Vietnam Patrol II 05/23-05/25/2015

Editor’s Note:  Vietnam Patrol II was the first game of its kind run in South Carolina, and, to our best knowledge, anywhere in the southeastern United States.  Produced, organized, and run by Henry “Dominium” Williams at Escue Airsoft, it was an ambitious experiment designed to bring aspects of realmil gameplay to players who had never gotten the chance to experience events like East Wind.  Despite pessimistic projections, the event was successful, with 70 participants turning out and 39 staying the full three days.  Feedback from participants was overwhalmingly positive, which means that there’s a possibility that Dom will be running more games like this in the future.  -Arbee

I arrived at roughly 7am and got my items set up for my stay.  I also decided to show off some new RBDA items while there.  I saw many old faces and a lot more new faces.  The turn out was amazing, the event started with between 50 and 60 players and ended with between 30 and 40 players.  I haven’t been going to events long or often but I did reconize quite a few people when I got there and met a load more interesting people as well.  To start the day off I wandered around getting info and doing a meet and greet.  As everything started to settle down I linked up with the NVA side of things and got the run down on what was going on with them.  As the morning wore on everyone was getting pretty amped up.  At 10 o’clock the safety brief started.  During the safety brief Henry covered the events rules as well as the AOSC rules for everyone’s benefit.  During the hour and a half long briefing there were great questions asked, there was also a contest mentioned about the most authentic load out.  This person would win (insert items here).  After the Briefing everyone went to their respectful sides.  I followed the NVA to their side to start the event with them.

RBDA Schedule for May 2015

April, as it turns out, wasn’t a great month for game coverage, what with one thing or another.

Due to goings-on at work and a few personal obligations, this month hasn’t exactly been great for RBDA activity.  However, we’re planning to hit the field in full force in May, including our first official forays into Georgia for Twisted Alliance II, hosted by the Old Frontier and Operation: Dragon Rogue, hosted by Third Coast Airsoft (for those of you who aren’t aware, the venue for that particular game has changed, so take a look at the Facebook page for the new address).
